Poster Problems ;~;

Everytime I make a panel/poster, it comes out crooked and bumpy ==Dx I use Bead 'N Stretch .7mm string, but I don't think that's the problem because it's not very stretchy at all. IS THERE SOME KIND OF SECRET TO MAKING STRAIGHT, FLAT PANELS/POSTERS!?

I use 30lb Omniflex fishing line, you can get it at walmart for cheap. Works great for this (:

I use fishing line! It is SO MUCH BETTER to use for posters than normal string. At walmart, I get Omnaflex (sometime like that) 20 lb happy My thing of 250 yards cost about 3 or 4 dollars I think.

I always go with fishing line. You can get it in the outdoor sports section at walmart and its like 700 yards and only 4.00 bucks i think? but if you work with it to long it starts to dig into your fingers while tightening. so wear band-aids for protection(: Hope this helps.

When I make flat peyote stitches, I never use thick elastic for this reason. I can never manage to get it straight/flat/to line up. I would either use .5 elastic or sewing thread. As mentioned though, different bead sizes can be a cause of the problem- I just reuploaded my peyote stitch tutorial and I used thread in it and it was fine [also the Chao poster I show in the beginning was used with sewing thread] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ssh4HjU6nDs

Another problem with using stretch string on poster panels is the tension. The whole poster may not have a lot of stretch but the change in tension as you work through the pattern will cause this wave and bunching effect as well. I recommend using fishing line or Plastic Lacing for poster panels as the change in tension becomes less noticeable withe these because they do not stretch like elastic.

Jesterrox is right. You're best bet if you want your panel to come out straight and flat, buy pony beads of the same brand or beads that come the same container. I hope this was a a little helpful.

It may be that your beads are different sizes. I get mine from different places, and sometimes I notice either I have a bump in a panel or a curve.
