513b39525823e_crying.gifAlright so the other day I was with my grandparents, and we saw someone selling baby bunnies on the side of the road for $20. I recently just got $20 from my aunt, and I am wondering if my mom will let me get a bunny if i pay for everything. The person selling them gave us his number/address and stuff, and gave us information about what to do since he is actually like a bunny farmer or whatever the people who raise groups of the same animal at once are called? idk lmao

But i think the big mistake here was they let me hold a few of them and i got attached 513b39525823e_crying.gif i actually carry around a small white rabbit stuffy at school and stuff it helps me w/ anxiety lmao, so when i went up to see the bunnies i also had my stuffy because i had just gotten out of school for the day

My anxiety is keeping me from asking because I have always wanted a bunny (they are literally my favorite things in the whole world) so does anybody have tips on how to ask? i know this is like oddly specific but yk literally ANY advice helps ahah

and i will add that if i get one i will be dedicated to taking care of it because i couldnt imagine losing another pet and this would mean so much to me. i love to help animals and i love being around them.

if youre serious about getting a rabbit, have done adequate research , can pay for all necessitates, can pay for vet bills, can pay for food, and can pay for a proper setup/toys/enrichment then i would recommend bringing up these things to your mom. if you can present to her that youre completely about to care for it then i wouldnt see why shed say no at that point

Make a PowerPoint presentation with reasons on why you should get one and provide things you would do to get one. May sound silly but it tells your mom you're dedicated to getting one.

if you have to ask your mom to spend twenty dollars to get a pet, you arent old enough to own a rabbit. the bunny will need to be spayed/neutered to prevent cancer and probably need shots immediately as well, which your parents will be paying for, and hay for feed is not that easy to get ahold of for most peoples living situations. pets arent just a one time purchase, they constantly need money to be spent on them, so ultimately most of the responsibility will fall on your mom. id suggest waiting until you have a job or your own place so you can raise the bunny yourself in safe conditions (parents might not know about free-roaming etc and might insist on keeping the rabbit in poor conditions because they havent done research. and since theyre paying theres not much you can do to make them fully accomodate).

additionally, breeders can be sketchy, and generally speaking you wont be able to buy a bunny from a reputable breeder for that low a price. you dont know this breeder and whether they actually keep the rabbits in good condition or not, you dont know the medical history of the parents, its complicated but a lot of things could go wrong when you buy a pet from some rando for cheap, which is why people say Adopt Don't Shop. please wait until youre older
