A question about lace code!!

K4V1TY_ 4/6/2022 03:34 am 404

Last night I added more beads onto my boots (yellow & purple laced)!! I was wondering if its disrespectful/rude (???) to cover up part of the laces (especially the yellow one) with beads as I haven't seen anyone else do it /genq. Its still quite obvious that the lace i yellow and ladder laced but I was just wondering :3

TL;DR is it disrespectful to put beads over yellow ladder laced laces?

(If u don't know what lace code is it's a code to do with the colour of ur laces!! Skinheads/punks started it! (Fell free to correct me if I'm wrong/describe it better lol) Googling and doing a bit of a deep dive can tell u most things there is about it! Educate urself about it and b careful /gen)

wouldn't be offensive, but i think it's worth mentioning that yellow ladder lacing has previously meant asian-basher in skinhead communities. you should be fine, in fact wearing beads on them would probably make it more obvious that you're not One Of Those People

I don't think it's offensive. Especially if they're pride flags like you mentioned earlier. I don't see that many people use lace code or even know what it is anymore so I think you're all good. Do what you like to anyways! People should create a correct way to express yourself. Have fun! -Finn

Lace code is a little outdated and not a lot of people really use it (mainly because it's dumb to judge a person because their shoelaces are a certain color), so I wouldn't worry about it. Just wear what you like / what matches your outfit.
