What Do Your Non-rave Friends Think Of Your Kandi?

Vicktato 7/22/2012 04:53 pm 3105

A few of my friends think it's cool and that I'm talented, and a few others think it's over the top, and stupid. I want to know, what do your non-rave friends think of your kandi?

alot of the time I get stares, but my friends have gotten used to it. some of them give me crap for it, but others think it is the coolest thing ever! Alot of random people I meet will either glare at me or will walk up asking if they have special meaning or if they can have some or if they could simply look at them.

My friends think they're really cool, but I have had people call me a freak because of my kandi. A girl said to me, "You're such a freak with beads." And I replied with, "At least people know me for something." That shut her up. My mom keeps telling me to sell my kandi, but I really don't want to. I thought about it a few times, just because I know the supplies isn't free, but at the same time, I don't want to because all of my kandi (singles, cuffs, etc.) have sentimental value to me, and even if I made one that didn't have some deeper meaning, it would feel... wrong! I use kandi to describe my feelings, or my memories. It all has a story. Selling kandi would be like selling a memory, or selling a story. Y'know? My dad doesn't give a crap, he just wants me to make him a Mexican flag+Mexico colored headband xD

I haven't had any bad experiences or reviews yet, however I'm still relatively new to it all ^^; My parents are completely amazed by it, my mom even asked me to make her one just to keep! Every once in a while they suggest that I could make alot of money from it, but I just act like I didn't hear them >.<; My friends are also completely amazed ^^ they have asked me if they could buy it off of me before, though I refused of course. They also hinted at me making some for them. They think it's pretty, unique, and creative. Once again, some of them think I should sell them on Etsy or have an artists table at an anime con and sell them, but as usual I just act like I didn't hear it or just ignore it or whatever. The other day I walked into Michaels for some beads and the cashier kept staring at them, as well as the lady checking out behind me, when it was my turn to check out he asked if I made them and was completely shocked when I said yes. Both said they were beautiful ^^~

my dad doesnt understand it. my mom keeps saying i should sell them >_< my friends think theyre cool, i guess. they always say "wow thats a lot." whenever i wear kandi to school (like even just 4 singles on each arm) my history teacher says "cant fit any more on your arms?" but i like wearing it because where i live, nobody else does unless i give it to them c: so i like being different.
