I dont understand why people still get mad over this. Yes its Kandi and yea its part of your culture but I dont understand why theres a need to not understand the non Raver Kandi kids. Thats mean to say ”dont call it Kandi if you dont rave” I rave or tleast have raved so I dont see why people cant undertand like me sad

I hope I don't sound rude but I seriously don't understand these type of questions. I totally respect the fact that kandi originated at raves and such, and the majority of kandi people rave, but do you really have to rave to make these beaded creations? Pony bead companies were originally aiming at little kids to make beaded creations, & it seems nearly crazy to most adults for an elementary school child to attend a rave, even if it's an underground one for all ages for some reason. I'm not saying that only younger kids can make "kandi". But honestly, when I was getting into, "kandi" I thought the original purpose was simply about PLUR, hardly the being-to-a-rave thing. But I guess there is a connection since you can make several friends at raves by trading. & when I (surprisingly) see people wearing kandi in my area, I usually assume it was given to them. I give beaded creations to my friends all the time & they don't rave because of my original thought of "kandi".

I'm sure other people on this site plan to attend a rave in the future like me, but everyone has their own reasons of not being able to. I am aware that I can't change people's opinions, but since everyone is sharing theirs, I thought I'd do the same. I just hope no one was offended by this but I just wanted to express my personal belief. <3

I would like to attend one and see how it is but I don't think there are any even NEAR my area or in my city so its hard and if there were some near me, I would have to be older then I am.

plur has nothing to do with kandi lol, came way b4 when it was p.l.u.e. but was adopted by the kandi community. and beads were around long b4 and will b long after raving but kandi is rave related lol and in all reality its deeper than beads, its about the friendship and community, dont need beads for that if u have the right mindset

Well, I stumbled upon this and I just have to post. I don't see the issue here. I think you don't have to rave to be a kandi kid. Kandi may have been born in the rave culture, but it has expanded to (in my opinion) greater things. There are a lot of people who can't rave; either they're not old enough, have any raves in their area, or just can't for some reason. I can't rave because the nearest city that has raves is atlanta and I don't have a way there, and my folks won't let me because I am only seventeen(18 in April!) But, I am hoping i can go raving around my 18th birthday. But anyway.. I haven't been making kandi long, but I don't call myself a kandi kid, but i do call kandi kandi, and I won't stop because other people don't like for me too. Just my opinion..

I hate when kids make/wear kandi and go around going "LOL PLUR! KANDI KID! I'M SUCH A HARDCORE RAVER!" I've only been to ONE rave but I don't plan on going to another one till I'm older (I'm 14) So when people ask me if I rave I'm just like "I've been to a rave but I don't plan on going to another one till I'm older and am more prepared." Or whatever. I LOVE making Kandi. I LOVE my kandi family. And I can't wait till I can be part of the RAVE family Beating Heart
