are people actually triggered by caps ??

like genuinely i dont get it sorry if im sounding like an insensitive jerk but its just big letters u cant hear me through the screen can i get a little insight on how such a thing could occur? something rlly serious must happen to totally trigger you, ive been typed in caps to in some serious situations in the past but it doesnt trigger me to see a word typed big i know everyones diff tho513b3952851d7_shrug.gif again not trying to come off disrespectful, just curious!513b55c740178_kao_sick.gif

edit: i get why someone with a screenreader or a person who struggles to read it would need a content warning but not a *trigger* warning, thats what im curious about!! ty guys

I use the caps trigger to like prepare myself to read bc I have a hard time reading all caps, idk about others tjough

some people with dyslexia find it hard to read and autistic individuals such as myself have a harder time reading the tone of the message

i don't really know cus it doesn't trigger me, but i still put a content warning if i include caps for like more than one word cus i don't wanna be inconsiderate

i just do it out of respect cause if you dont someone will always say the wanted a warning so idk they personally dont bother me shrug

sometimes it does trigger me cuz i see it as people being angry and yelling, but sometimes its fine.

unless its for screen readers if its for TRIGGER purpose its so cringe i am not enabling sombody who needs a warning for caps bro welcome to the real world

I dont think it usually triggers people bc it is a cw (content warning) instead of a tw (trigger warning), but i can see that it could be connected to some form of trauma, but i think it's mainly for people who have a hard time reading the text.

@TrashPuppy_Therian: that makes a lot of sense! i stil dont see why itd be considered a trigger though, maybe a content warning not a trigger warningnahim also a person who struggles with tone but i usually just ask how things are meant if i dont understand idk
