string for making bikinis???

So I've never made a kandi bikini before and I was just wondering what's the best kind of string to use? I normally use the Stretch Magic for my cuffs and 3D heads, but Idk if that's strong enough, and really don't want to worry about it falling apart at a rave or something>.<

I use 1mm fabric string, crumpet has a link to it in her kandi help section under kandi supplies. I find it works really well, and will most likely not fall apart, I have yet to have one break apart on me like a stretch magic one would. It also keeps its shape this way without being too triangle looking. or if you want it supper durable you can buy 2mm string from http://kwikcrafts.com/Merchant5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=KC&Category_Code=Elastic it is hard to work with since it is so thick, but if you can sit through it it should be very durable, ive made a few bikinis with this string.

I use Bead N' Stretch .7mm elastic string and it works perfectly!

A thick string covered in fabric always works. :3

I used thick fabric covered string for mine...I think its around 1-1.2mm thick and it worked very well because it ties off very well and it holds together and doesn't stretch out as easily as something like Stretch Magic

I have made two skirts and lots of bikinis. I always use stretch magic string. I use 1.00 mm diameter. It's sturdy, and allows you to string it more tightly (that is why my finished products don't stretch, I do string my kandi very tightly). So it gives a bit but not too much, I also string my in a way that make the triangles curve and cup, so I like something that's stiff. I have to say though everyone has their own preference, and their own reasons. Some people say the 1mm stuff is too hard to work with, some say stretch magic breaks, and that is true for the thinner stuff. I've worn one of my bikinis to more than five events and it's still like new. I've had beads snap in two on the back strap, but the string didn't give out and wore it the rest of the night without trouble. However I always use buttons as a closing mechanism so I don't have to worry about making it stretchy enough on the back. The truth is you can ask for advice, but it really is a personal preference issue. It depends on how you string things, what kind of knots you make, and just what you like working with. Someone may swear that this is the best string in the world but in your hands it just doesn't feel right. My advice, make some small pieces to test the string, and see what YOU think is sturdy, and what YOU like working with. What is right for us may not be right for you. As you can see, everyone has mentioned a different kind of sting.
