some of my faves rn are (i'll add warnings abt them too):

- no longer human (osamu dazai) - this book is really good, but also pretty dark (deals w/ drinking problems, self-unalive, and other potentially triggering topics). it's about the life of a (fictional) man named oba yozo, and him detailing about how he felt as though he didn't fit in with other and though he was not actually human.

- how do you live? (genzaburo yoshino) - this book was actually really sweet and cute. it's about a high schooler named copper (jun'ichi) honda, and his..journey, i guess?? to find friends and his own place in the world.

- the fault in our stars (john green) - when i tell you i love john green omfg. this book is kinda sad (deals with terminal illness and a lot of grief and loss), but it's also lighthearted at points. it's about a girl named hazel who has cancer, and she meets a boy named augustus at a support group at her church. they read each others' favorite books, chaos ensues.

- the island of dr. moreau (h.g. wells) - this one is. surely something. (major warning for body h@rm/mut!l@tion). a man is rescued by a doctor after a shipwreck, and finds many strange animals on the island they land on.

- twilight (stephenie meyer) - ....i had to be the one to say it. basically vampires and humans and oh no theyre in love???? who would have guessed???

- stargirl (jerry spinelli) - no warnings again, this one's about an unususal girl showing up at (fictional) mica high school, and pretty much how the school reacts around her. very cool happy

hope these help !!

i like mostly classic lit and other forms of literature, and that's all ive really read recently so i guess i'll give you some classic lit recs

  • the picture of dorian gray (such an interesting book!! deals with the psyche of an egotistical man who will go to any lengths to keep his youthful appearance.)
  • rebecca (an interesting mystery regarding a man's dead wife and his new spouse uncovering what truly happened to her.)
  • the collector (a psychological thriller about a stalker and his victim.. if you're not bothered by stuff of that sort, it's an amazing novel.)
