Does anyone ever get constantly picked on for listening to a type of music???

Personally I always get picked on for listening to Vocaloid because it's "Just a bunch of ching chong bing bong"

And yes some kids in my class really said that

I mean sometimes, ive heard people call grunge just emo country before, that or just 'sh1tty angst music'. Guess the last could be a little true but the genre has quite literally saved my life throughout some times. I also love listening to Limp Bizkit, and that's just a magnet for people to start hating you. Like ok i get that is isnt for everyone but just dont send death threats yk lol. If im being honest electronic music is one of my least favorite genres, but id never pick on you or someone else for that

growing up i always got shit for listening to classic rock so much and for not really listening to anything else. i honestly never really gave an F because it's the type of music that actually makes me the happiest. :]

My advice is to possibly just only tell the right people! I was a closet vocaloid fan when I was 12-14 and I only told my friends on Skype, haha. It DOES get better people truly do not care what you listen to as you get older. Also some side advice (bc I noticed it in this thread) is to not shame others for their music! It's ok to like 'basic' artists! I listen to artists like Megan Thee Stallion AND Jpop AND Yves Tumor! And lots more! Life is much more fun when you open yourself up to all sorts of genres !

EDIT: (I say that last part as one of the kids who thought people who listened to more mainstream music were basic, lol )

edit: ok i listen to SOME peep but maybe once every few months like hes not even in my top 50 musicians lmaoaos

whenever someone asks me "what kind of music do you like?" i just go "oh i don't really have a favorite kind of music" and that should make them leave you alone.

Whenever I play my music in my mom's car I have to pick specific genres or else I get kicked off the aux. I like a bit of everything so it's fine, but I'm not allowed to play anything my mom considers "electronic"
