if they look anything like docs and the laces r ladder laced than yes it does apply, my dad has been in the punk scene for over 20 years (he doesn't rlly dress punk anymore bc all his old punk clothes r mine now lol, but he still knows alot abt it and listens 2 the music) even if they aren't ladder laced the colors themselves may still get mistaken, so I'd either use like just black laces or get yellow and or purple ones to make sure no one mistakes u for anything like that

Edit: I forgot 2 mention that yellow means you stand for black lives matter and purple is for either lgbtqia+ pride or for support I'd try and stay away from blue, red, and white, black is good bc it's neutral it can mean anything so if I were you I'd just go with black, or some other design there are alot of good cheap designs on etsy and Amazon that don't apply to lace code or anything like that, just be very careful and stay safe.

not sure if it applies to only ladder lacing or or but it applies to any black combat boots.
