if yøure a DID/ØSDD system,, cøuld yøu maybe pøssibly cømment yøur experience pre diagnøsis/ pre finding øut yøu are a system? i wanna make sure i am getting inførmatiøn frøm actual systems and nøt høw systems are presented in media. <3

when i was young, seven or eight i would tell people that i couldn't play them because i was playing with tessa. tessa was never there, she wasn't a physical person. she was in my brain. i didn't realize that until a few months ago when my friend was talking abt it

it really started with having “imaginary friends” after remebering some traumatic stuff then how “whenever i age regress i remember differently and look different in my head then what body looks like” then the nail in the coffin was just when we split one day in therapy and the therapist suggested we were a system, dont have a lot of pre realization experiences because it was very quiet and nobody ever switched -wolf

my experience pre finding out was kinda like ,,, there are fully formed voices and personalities that are in my head, and sometimes it feels like theyre with me or are me (aka switching before i found out) also since the first two were introject i was able to assign them specific looks, while altered from their direct source thus distinguishing them more. idk if thats exactly what u meant but feel free to ask anything in more detail!!!

@BLUUDPIE: hi as a medically recognized system i wanna say that its not "very rare",,,,studies have found that theres like as many people with did/osdd as people with red hair?? also people can be aware of their headmates and they CAN communicate, idk where youre getting your info but its not true at all,,,/nm not every system is the same and to say that "oh well actually if u dont act exactly like this then u dont actually have did" its really doing more harm then good???

Hey I'm actually a psychology student and um DID is actually VERY rare and people with actual diagnosed DID are not aware of the other alters, they can't switch on command, a licensed practitioner may be able to coax out different alters out of someone with DID but it's difficult, the alters also can't communicate with eachother. Don't let people spread myths about this debilitating mental illness, because it is rude to people with actual diagnosed DID (I'm not trying to hate, just trying to spread information.)
