I’m genuinely curious about others are different species currently instead of a past life because the differences are that if you are kin or therian, you are a species in a past life, I get that but beings who believe they’re a species now, doesn’t it distort the view of yourself whenever you look in a mirror kind of like disphoria, just wanna learn

I'm many different species for a lot of reasons, but mainly it's caused by a distorted sense of self + derealization. I can look at myself in the mirror but it doesn't feel like me, and I often forget what my face looks like, even when I'm staring at it. It feels more like I'm controling my body then I AM my body. Instead I sort of mentally take the form of other things (can be anything from a fallen angel to fictional characters to inanimate objects, the latter which cause a really strange phantom limb situation lol)

some ppl just +feel+ like they were something else in an other life! this can cause distress, phantom limbs, etc like ppl who currently are different species, but it can also just come in the form of a strong, sometimes spiritual connection to something

it does! it really does, I hate looking at myself in the mirror, sometimes I get really bad species dysphoria

yeah i can't look in the mirror for a lot of reasons -- i was a fox in a past life and i really miss being one, and it kinda leaks into this life too (i get called a foxboy a lot). i have some really really strong fictionkins too and i always expect to be those incarnations of myself and not me now... so add that on the gender dysphoria and i can't stand to look in mirrors anymore
