whats the best fabric to use for patches (im going to put them on my backpack) and where can i get the fabric

I usually take thin fabric and glue it to a piece of felt (I do embriodery though so it may not be what you are looking for)

To get fabric, most craft stores have a set up with fabric or possibly etsy

sorta a little bit unrelated bc its not an answer to the question but where do i get fabric paint??????? i wanna make patches but idk where to get fabric paint crying

I use old shirts or felt for my patches and it works really well
