I have neuropathy in my hands sometimes and what i do is usually put heat on them or raise them above my heart. I dont know if this helps with arthritis but its worth trying anything to do the things you love.

@sl4ck3rb1tch: we already use the thicker thread sometimes, and it does help quite a bit! i'll look for those beads at some point, soon - mike

@TransIconHerobrine: we were planning to get a support anyway, and we might try and get one of those needles, too, thanks! - mike

i have carpal tunnel syndrome, and i use wrist supports / splints while i'm doing stuff like kandi and drawing!! i've found it helps to put them on tighter than normal during that, since having pressure on surrounding areas "tricks" the mind in a way that makes the pain less obvious lol, but idk if it's different with arthritis (also, the supports i have can just be found at any store like walmart or CVS lmao, but if you have one ordered by a doctor, that's cool too)

like other comments have mentioned, i've seen some people use thick plastic / wooden needles for beading, but i have yet to try that out. it looks super helpful though!!

and of course, make sure to take breaks! stay safe <3

u could try using larger beads! they’re often listed as “large barrel” pony beads or “jumbo” beads on online stores. the hole is much bigger as well, so it’s easier to thread. thicker fabric coated elastic is easier to hold and tie off than clear plasticky ones in my opinion. and as another commenter mentioned, using plastic needles might help! there are some that are specialized for beading, but i’ve found that plastic darning needles (for knitting/crochet) can do the trick as well! and if u have issues threading those, id recommend a threader! they’ll likely be sold in the sewing notions section of a store. honestly quite the lifesaver for me. hope this helps!!

those long, plastic needles might help!!! less stuff you have to do with your fingers
