so i’m going swimming today, and I needed to get a swimsuit because my old ones doesn’t fit so my mom brought me to target and brought me into then woman’s section and I started feeling kinda dysphoric, i identify as non-binary and use they/he prns. I usually get a two piece swim suit which i’m usually fine with, but I feel so dysphoric with one now. i usually dress pretty feminine but hate to be perceived as a female. I’m going swimming in an hour, and my mom isn’t going to buy me a new suit for the season so I don’t know what to do, any tips for making me feel less dysphoric without getting a new suit

I'd say ask if you can get a swim shirt. Maybe wear some athletic shorts or something like that if you can. Personally I have a swimming shirt and swim trunks but something along those lines would work. Hope all goes well!

maybe try telling yourself that you are non-binary and a swimsuit won't change that? that you are just yourself and if someone mistakes you for a female, give them a friendly reminder ?
