X-base Cuff flaring out

51485f23c3729_lil-rainbow.gifHey! I've tried to remake my x-base cuff over 4 times now and it always flares out really weirdly at the top. I've tried tightening it after every 3 beads, but that didn't work. It reduced the flare a little bit though. Should I make the initial kandi bracelet (the one you build your triangle shapes on) looser or what?

I use pony beads and an elastic string. Any help would be appreciated really!!!! 514c97f246dda_peace.gif5148b8c8aeaed_tongue.gif

Hi! PLEASE don't let this discourage you; this is actually normal with x based cuffs! the final row at the top, which is 2 beads between each final point, helps to pull everything back in!

You can try using a more sturdy string, but the most common reason is forgetting the very last row of two of your main color beads in between each connector bead. This helps the top of the cuff fold inward, and keeps it from flaring out. Also, not making a full "X" can cause it because it doesn't have the right amount of rows. If your x-base only has one or two x's it's also more likely to flare out. I make sure to use a really sturdy string instead clear elastic like I do with most things, just because it holds up a lot better. If none of the other things work, I'd definitely invest in some better string. This is the string I use. Hopefully that helps!
