What's the point in PLUR ?

Awesome_Amber 7/19/2012 11:41 pm 2368

i'm not saying i don't believe in the meaning, quite the contrary, what i mean is im very new to all of this and it seems like everywhere i look all the long time members are talking about closing kandi groups to because the NEW kids are the problem. I'm a new kid but i try my hardest to do everything the right way. why should i be punished because i joined later? i dont know i guess im ranting because i truly thought i would be welcome here but im kinda treated like a poser. 2.gif

Im a newbie, and I honestly have never been to a rave for an endless number of reasons, one of them being the terrible crew of newbies who just go for the XTC. I think its just a certain crew of old-schoolers on here so frequently that they can ruin it for everyone else trying to join the club.

@SycoSquirl I just think that, if the people who don't give a crap about PLUR, or kandi, or responsibilty, then the old-schoolers shouldn't just give up. If anything, just ignore them, and shouldn't give a crap about them either, and continue to enjoy their night. Whether they choose to help the irresponbles is still up to them. I know what it's like to become discouraged, but I wouldn't abandon the scene because of those who abuse it. That just kind of lets them win, in my opinion.

round them were taking care of themselves and not putting themselves in bad situations, but when they saw someone having a bad trip instead of sending them home alone like the friends of the girl at edc that jumped out of her hotel room window, the old schoolers would take care of eachother and be perfectly happy to do so.

@ Avatarsyd the old schoolers have tried to enlighten the new comers, but most do not listen and after hitting parties up for several years and not having one person give a flying shit about what you are trying to teach them, they get discouraged and decide they are done trying because obviously they are not going to change. @Awesome_Amber its not really about taking the ocassional tad or whatever, its the people that go specifically to the events so they can take tab after tab after tab after tab and much more that gets on peoples nerves. I went to a party out in Albuquerque while at school and there was one girl that could not for the life of her handle her drugs, and her "friends" were not taking care of her properly so me and my boyfriend had to spend an hour of the event taking care of this girl who shouldnt have been taking the drugs in the first place. Its about those kinds of people that frustrate old schoolers, because before they could go to parties, know that the people a

Well, honestly, I'm new as well to the entire scene. I only started making kandi in January, but I had gone to a few 'raves'(more like foam parties). I've gone to a few more, but I still can't shuffle for my life xD. But like they said, there are kids who go to have fun, to enjoy the music and the company, and there are those in the lingerie and bro tanks, who don't even wear kandi, that go just to get messed up. It's really about how you present yourself(if anything, cover up to avoid that kind of attention). I wear my kandi everywhere, and Ive never had a problem with old-schoolers. In fact, where I live, the newcomer kandi kids are praised, because kandi has been disappearing over the past few years in my area. But I do understand where you're coming from. I personally think the old-schooler's who do hate on P-tot's or anyone else really is very anti-plur just for what they choose to wear. I know I personally havent been around that long, but it's like... Don't worry about them. If they want to bring PLUR back, they shouldn't be walking away. I think they should just enlighten people at the raves like that, instead of making the newbie's feel unwelcome.

i have never been to a rave but i have heard that a lot of people are angry cuz all the new comers like to dress skimpy, and use and abuse drugs. I see kandi kids as the new hippie. my mom was a hippie and i see a lot of what she stands for in the kandi kid community. everybody looked down on hippies cuz they protested and they did the drugs and they had no racial boundries, and it was hard for them to last when new comers joined as a fad and for the drugs. the same thing is happening in raves so it seems (from what i have heard) where it started for peace and ove and bringing people together and not seeing race or gender but the newer people just join for the drugs or cuz they see it as a fad. from what i have heard its more of like a family than a fad. the skimmpy clothes and the OD-ing and the nasty dancing is not only ruining the culture by making people angry, but it gives the government a chance to try and stop it. that's why oldschoolers dont like the new people. not all new peo

i get what your saying i really do man. but im only new to kandi. i been going to raves for about three years now. Yes sometimes i do take a tab but i never go overboard. i dunno. it just sucks that i have to be grouped with the people who are ruining the experience for me.
