as someone diagnosed with ptsd, I think it's okay as long as you can relate to it. it's a way of venting/a coping mechanism, but that's just my personal opinion.

imo you can. the range of sentiments expressed in traumacore is so broad that many neurodivergent people can relate

Hi, I'm still trying to figure out if I have trauma or not, but I relate alot to traumacore and I think as long as you don't come off as saying you have trauma, you'll be good.

As someone with trauma i dont really see why everyone else is acting like it's weird to relate to it if you dont share their exact experience. I love traumacore and i can see how people without specific trauma could relate it to things like depression or neurodivergency, so if you like it then why not, yknow? We're all coping with something and if this aesthetic helps you i dont see why it should be gatekept

Also dont confuse trauma with adhd. They are nothing alike there is a vast difference between hyperactivity and Truama :the response to a deeply distressing or disturbing event that overwhelms an individual's ability to cope, causes feelings of helplessness, diminishes their sense of self and their ability to feel a full range of emotions and experiences. It does not discriminate and it is pervasive throughout the world

I have severe CPTSD and I use traumacore as a coping mechanism, so I don't really think that you should invade the safespace we've made to cope but like noone can really stop you ig

As someone who has faced Semi-Trauma even I can agree that its a lil odd to be into trauma core ESPECIALLY if you havent suffered trauma irl. Soo idk I mean its your life but I will tell you right now that if you knew what trauma really felt like than you probz wouldnt want it to be apart of your life or the TraumaCore aesthetic.kao no

Idk what trauma core is but I have the traumaz and I agree with makiroll.

I would add that using the term "fetish" or "fetishization" to inherently mean something wrong or bad is in itself problematic you know? Because fantasy is separate from reality and we have to be able to accept that ppls brains go to some weird azz places and there's nothing wrong with that.
Fetish in itself is not inherently a bad thing. Fetishizing something is not in itself a bad thing, as long as its not hurting someone.
You can fantasize and romanticize anything and many people don't really have control over that. Its when you do something or take action based on that fantasy and the thing you do or the actions you take end up hurting someone. That's when its wrong.

So as makiroll said - if you start pretending that you have trauma and build a false personality around yourself and convincing people that you have trauma your hurting other people who really do have trauma because one of the number one things that people do is deny the abuses suffered by people who've experienced real trauma.

When people who don't have real trauma pretend to have trauma and then the people around them either know that they don't have any or find out later that you lied - not only does it affect you and your life but then the people you lied to will go on to say that all people who have trauma are lying for attention and those people who have real trauma and need real help and support will end up being called liers and abandoned when they are the ones who really do need that help and support.

I think it's perfectly fine to have a fetish. I think it's perfectly fine to fetishize something in your head. Just be careful and make sure it stays there. In your head. And always be mindful and careful not to let your fetish cause harm to other people either intentionally or unintentionally.

Otherwise you do you!

personally, i think traumacore itself is gross and rlly weird, but, i can see why people would like it.

from someone who does have trauma (saw someone die, abuz3 trauma, r4p3) i think its fine to like it. as long as you dont like fake trauma and make it your whole personality, then you do you.
