why was commenting made? whats the purpose of it being there? i noticed even some of the most popular patterns barely have any comments? lol-

Sorry, you are unable to reply. If the thread is still open, you might have been blocked from commenting due to spam or abuse, or we might not have been able to verify that you are a real account. Try updating your profile and interacting more on the site. There are greater restrictions on forum comments due to spam. Spam comments will still not be published, even for verified accounts

When I first set up this site in 2010, I used an image gallery plugin which had comments as a feature. When I later re-coded the site to be custom, I left the comments as a feature, just because they'd always been there... but yeah basically it's to leave compliments or give community input. People used to ask questions about how to make patterns too, back when there were only a few hundred.

i always assumed it was so people could be like "i just made this pattern! i love it!" or "i'm gonna make this!" or "this pattern fits better on smaller wrists" etc. etc. just community input
