Do I have to do my kandi on flat surface?

Ive been doing kandi cuffs on my bed and sometimes they come out a little bit out of shape and I don't know its because I'm not on flat surface or its the string (sorry for the bad grammar) (i'm also a beginner btw)

no you don't have to. i think it's probably the string that's giving you issues. if it's not pulled tight enough or the string is too thick, it'll come out looking wonky.

Flat surfaces are a lot easier to work on, but it could also be that you're not pulling the string tight enough ? Doesn't need to be too tight of course, just enough to pull the beads into the correct places.
