Is this the proper technique to use in making a kandi mask with pony beads? When I made my first mask I followed this tutorial and she used a different method at 7:51 for threading the more complicated side. But with her method you need to be more careful with the tension because if you make it too tight they'll tend to bunch up on you.

I actually followed the tutorial video tutorial you linked. I've also watched the ginger cande tutorial for masks and she used the same method. I use that method because I didn't know that there were other way to do it lol. The first method you linked probably works fine, but it looks more complicated than it's worth in my opinion. Just try out both and see what you like. Hope that helpedtongue

I don't know about 'proper' technique or anything I that, I am fairly new to this whole kandi making thing, but I have watched many videos and tried many different techniques. The best way I have found that works best for me is once you get to the complicated side, before you thread on a bead go through the bead right below where the next bead will go. Then string on a bead and thread it up through the first bead sticking up, then continue threading up and down through the top rows (the beads sticking up and the beads right next to them below). When you are on the second to last bead, thread down out of the bead directly under the highest bead on the edge of the mask, once you have done that all you have left to do is to string back up into the first bead sticking up and continue as you normally would. I hope that makes sense wacko.
