Any tips for starting/learning guitar??

I'm trying to learn guitar, are there any tips/tricks or youtube tutorials that anyone recommends?? If u know guitar please tell me things that u think I should try and learn first. Thank youu????

Edit: I am an orchestra kids at heart so i do know a little bit about majors and minors and how to read music and all that jazz. Idk I just felt like I should add that

there's a solid amount of "basic" guitar songs to learn, i'd recommend seven nation army (you will get sick of it fast), proud mary, free fallin', baba o'riley, and come together. don't be afraid of bar chords, they WILL get easier over time. power chords are super helpful, especially for songs with fast chord changes. also!!! don't stress over music theory too much at the beginning. you should learn it, but forcing yourself to learn majors and minors will make it a lot less fun :3

also dont lose your mind over stairway to heaven or thunderstruck - a person who has done this

i recommend acdc songs ! i personally dont know much and am still learning myself , but they seem easier to learn ! :]

For strumming, try to do simple down strums only, them move onto up/down.

I also use ultimate guitar (tho massively hated on, I like it) and it helped me self-teach myself pretty well!

I don’t know if this works for everyone but what I do is learn a few basic chords (A,D,G,E,Em) practice non stop then try to like find really easy tabs such as ( Smoke on the water, Feel good inc, Seven nation army, ect) and just play them a lot I guess. This might not work for you but I hope it helps!! .
