one time this kid in my science class told our teacher that she was acting like a mom so she fr said "well then you can call me mommy" we all like side eyed each other like did she really just say that, does she not know how dirty minded a room full of highschoolers is???

A students try really hard and people always freak out when ONE little thing isn't perfect. Or when they don't complete an assignment immediately. Or, in my case, when they start struggling in a subject. I did really good in math (I had like 96% for the first semester) and I started struggling more in the following semesters. I was having trouble paying attention but I really was trying. Like actually, despite often being so tired I could barely keep my eyes open. I started lagging behind and I GENUINELY don't know why, when I was doing the same thing I had been for the whole year. Well, the teacher noticed this and started calling me out in class for no reason. Saying stuff like "Just cause you're an A student doesn't mean you don't have to pay attention/take notes in my class" if he saw me not doing work for 0.3 seconds or "Rory USED to be an A student, but something happened" or "A C on the test?!!! What happened, Rory?" in the middle of class in front of everyone. My grade hadn't even dropped to a B. Some subjects started being harder for me and the teacher just kept saying shit like that. Instead of helping. And he would still make me help other students and when I couldn't he'd get mad at me, tell me that I "thought I was too good for the class" like wtf. So saying shit like "show me your A-ness" doesn't fucking help A students (ESPECIALLY because of what it sounds like lmfao) and it's completely unnecessary. Like teacher wouldn't say "show me your F-ness or "show me your failure" to a struggling student lmao. A students are allowed to make mistakes. And maybe I overreacted but I mostly just wanted to vent.
