tips for drawing arm poses/poses in genral??

What helps me is placing the hand first and then adding the arm or for just digital art you can draw the upper and lower arm on different layers and move the pieces in the place you want them...but my general advice is to use basic shapes to build on, art is the understanding of shapes, not lines (can't remember where I heard that but it change my perspective of my art )
