is dubstep rap or EDM?

I've heard they're the same thing. I for one think not. I think dubstep belongs in the rap genre, not the EDM. What do you think dubstep really is? Please tell me! *respect given*

dubstep is life (my dad thought he heard dub step but it wiz the garbage truck don't worry i punched him)

I for one have never heard a dubstep song with any rap in it, though I do know there is dubstep rap out there. I think certain types (and songs) of dubstep can fit in rap, and others in edm... Personally if any of the dubstep I listened to had rap in it I probably wouldn't listen to it, because I'm not a huge fan of rap.
