Advice for making patterns?

i wanna start making patterns but i don't know how I should start or things I should be using/paying attention to to make patterns

for multistitch/peyote stuff, (especially smaller pieces like charms and such) try not to overcomplicate your design because you might find yourself struggling to get all of the details you wanna have in such a small area. speaking of area, you also might want to keep in mind the size of what you're making, because sometimes if you intend to make something small like a charm and follow a pattern without considering the bead count/resolution, your charm might turn out a lot bigger than you want it to! one last thing is to make sure your patterns start and end with double beads instead of a single bead. if you're not sure what I mean, try to think of how multistich looks when you do your first row/pass. it looks like two beads next to each other, then a single bead on top, then another two beads after that. if you make a pattern where it starts or ends with a single bead, that bead will fall off, so make sure to always have your ending and beginning start with a double bead thumbsupi hope this is helpful!
