can someone please help me with odd peyote stitch and unevenly shaped peyote charms

basically the title. i have watched god knows how many tutorials on the following things and STILL cannot get the hang of it (either i get it shaped all weird or it has like. idk how to describe it??? holes??? missing spaces???)
(editing to add that also sometimes when i try to make a unevenly shaped charm that also the beads twist and are in weird positions and i cant seem to fix that either)
