Favorite kandi hack/tip?

mine is line-ing out the beads for kandi cuffs and panels before i put them on the string

using clear nail polish to reinforce knots (though im planning on trying E600 at some point)
using Firefox's PDF markup feature on multi-stitch patterns to keep track of where I am on the pattern
using fabric covered stretch cord instead of clear plastic stretch cord (easier to knot and lasts longer bc its more dry-rot resistant)
using a metal yarn needle

(I know that's more than one tip)
