im getting evaluated for ADHD in a couple days, any advice or explanations of how it works?

like the title says, im getting evaluated for ADHD in 2 days. I'm excited but also nervous, and I don't really know how its gonna work or what'll be happened or what questions will be asked. just asking people who have experience with it for advice lol- plus it'll be at a pediatrics place if that makes a difference on how the process will be lol

I was diagnosed with adhd when I was 8 but I don’t have adhd it was autism the whole time so can’t really help but hope you get diagnosed corect

@vviolett: Internet has all kinds of tips for getting pills down that I wish had existed years ago. Turns out there are different ways for different shapes and density. I have to bend forward to get these new penguin things down.tthey should just make all meds into gummi sharks or something.

@vviolett: U saying u have a hard time with pills is reminding me of this one time I had these medicine patches? They were very weird. The meds were supposed to absorb into your skin lmao. Now I just take pills.

@Pinky: thanks! lol i dont think im gonna get a prescription, when we were first planning the appointment my mom clarified i dont want any medication- and even if i do get a prescription i have a really hard time swallowing pills

@vviolett: ohhh mk. Hope you feel a little less nervous! Also if u end up getting a prescription be warned. The meds SUCKKKK. They make me have a lowered appetite to the point where I forgot to eat until 8 pm yesterday. Also they make your mouth dry so it’s harder to speak. Another side effect is straight up awkwardness. (I take Focalin/dexmethylphenidate

@Pinky: lol the thing u said about shots is funny cus i might actually get shots while im there- before a few months ago i hadn't been to a doctor's office in many years so i have to get shots to catch up lolz- anyway thanks for explaining that stuff :]

I’m not supppeerrrr sure cause I was 7 so I don’t remember but there will be some paper tests to fill stuff out on. (I think??) also idk if your scared of getting a shot cause you’re not 7 like I was (I thought I was going to the physical doctor) but there are no shots
