@S133py_N0x: Madoka is a good kid, but she can be perceived as passive because she is both sensible, and the only person in the group who has no reason to make a contract. Being a magical girl sounds awesome, but she doesn't need anything until Walpugisnacht threatens everything. She doesn't have anything that she needs to save until we get to the end. Then we realize she has the generosity of spirit and the imagination needed to save first Homura and then every other magical girl from the aliens' cruelty without ruining the world she loves.
