i think ive already said this somewhere but vampire are not squids nor octopi but a secret third thing. closer to octopi but they're separated bc of two long, thin tentacles iirc? either way they're a member of their own separate family and i dont think theres many other members left (or theyre extinct.)

going into the deep sea is almost like a time machine, idk if it applies to other animals but this is specifically seen in sharks. good example would be the frilled shark: several more gills compared to their little siblings, snake-like movements, slenderer i wanna say? etc. i love frilled sharks btw theyre silly

blobfish do not look like that. that is what a blobfish looks like when it's been pulled out of the high-pressure depths it acclimated to too quickly. kind of sad that they're considered ugly now for it.

we know like nothing about phantom jellyfish. they have like, ribbony tentacles instead of the thin ones most do, and theyre big and puffy like mushrooms. theyre also huge? like several feet tall iirc. sillies. they're only spotted like once a year according to wikipedia (like 110 have been spotted since the early 1900's) mamegoma

A lot of scene kids didn't actually have Kandi, that was more of a rave thing but since the bright colors and early 2000s vibes were roughly the same, it got grouped together when the revival of scene was happening and now its commonly seen as a scene thing wink

There's a type of wild cat called the Pallas's cat. It looks like a fluffy, harmless housepet, but it's actually really aggressive! Like, these things will hiss at you before they can even open their eyes! shock

@Cencresh: i wonder if it just makes the frogs focus less on reproduction

or if it makes them perpetually hyper$exual

or if it might make them confused as to what the $ex of their mating partner is

you know the "chemicals in the water that are turning the frogs gay" due to polution, there is actual chemicals in the water that are messing with the frogs brain ways and actually making them like the same genderrainbowsmile

snow tigers arent actually a species ppl just found an albino tiger back n the 50s and crossbred him to keep the albinism going and sell it off as a super rare species which resulted in many snow tigers beig incredibly inbred

hyppos sweat's is red pigmented due to components in it that protects them from the sun which also tints their milk pink

annnd idk!!!

Clouded leopards do this really cute thing called chuffing! It's a communicative behaviour and is present in a few species of the felidae family :] It makes them sound like the Jurassic world velociraptors cheer Although, they can't roar, clouded leopards make adorable little growly meows instead

lol Ive put this in hyperfixation ranting posts on the forum but imma just copy and paste it.

The scientific name of a Horned Puffin is Fratercula Corniculata. The scientific name of an arctic puffin is Fratercula Arctica. Puffins mate for life. Their babies are called pufflings. The babies kinda hide in holes for their childhood and the parents take turns going on I think about week long fishing trips and come home to feed the puffling. Puffins live by the pacific. Ex: Oregon. They also despite the coloration and their preference for colder environments are not a kind of penguin. The porgs (forgot how to spell it) from star wars are based on puffins because while they were filming, there were so many puffins that they couldn’t edit them out. Puffin calls are very deep surprisingly. The average puffin lifespan is 25 years.
