sometimes when i log on, ill have multiple unopened comments (this morning i had two comment notifications)

when i opened them, it only showed me one of the new comment notifications and a really old one that always shows up (its always there regardless of if i get anything else, which would be nice to have for other comments notifs because i dont have that with any other old notifs)

does this happen to anyone else?? im literally surfing every thread ive been active in to find the other comment lol

Sorry, you are unable to reply. If the thread is still open, you might have been blocked from commenting due to spam or abuse, or we might not have been able to verify that you are a real account. Try updating your profile and interacting more on the site. There are greater restrictions on forum comments due to spam. Spam comments will still not be published, even for verified accounts

@Crumpet: the other notif is gone if i open the new one that pops up

youre probably right abt stuff simply being unpublished or deleted tho

If I remember correctly, notifications used to (and possibly still do) get stuck if the notification is so old that it's been bumped onto a high-numbered page... so if it's on page 3 of the post comments or page 10 of your notifications but you haven't viewed either of those pages. It most commonly happens in threads with lots of comments. I think I tried to address that at some point which is why you're seeing an old notification at the top. I have a feeling that the other notification was for that old one at the top. Do you still have a notification saying that you have something unread, or is it gone? If you message me with what the notification is that's stuck at the top, I can look into it. It's also possible that you're getting a notification for something that's been deleted or wasn't published. I'm not sure at what point the notifications get sent.
