Why is Kandi called Kandi? Also why is peyote stitch called peyote stitch? I’m so confused-

I’m new to Kandi and I just really need to know!! Is there a long backstory to the names of things that I just haven’t heard or something?? 513b39528014e_shock.gif Please send help

peyote stitch is really old and was made in many different cultures my favorite is a Native American peyote stitch they look very cool

Peyote stitch is super old, at least back to ancient Egypt, and has loads of different names depending on time and place. The little man who lives in my phone says the current name comes from the Kiowa and Comanche, picked up by colonizers in the 1800s.

I think Kandi has its name because finished bead projects kinda look like candy, but I'm not sure about peyote

This is also just a guess, I haven't actually researched it or anything
