I've seen the hat you speak of. And I know what she'll say. She wont say how, she wants everyone to be creative and try to figure it out. I wish I knew exactly how she did it, but I like the way she thinks. It's all about looking at the photo, and knowing what stitches they may have used. There are a few good ways to try it. Like Killer said it's like a huge cuff. If I tried it, I would try a X-base stitch.

"KIDCLOUD": these r for smaller top hats...has anyone made a regular sized top hat? thinking I've seen a picture of one on here. some girl made one for her bf, and it looked really cool. if you search 'top hat' you should find the picture. maybe you could ask her how she did it. Thanks for the help. happy I have now almost finished my first top hat ^_^

My roommate, a while back, just made a regular cuff for the base, a ladder for the rim, then attached them. I've also seen people putting a bigger star on for the top on, recently. (Attached is her hat)
