I got a lot of my stuff from thrift shops. Also, if you want to make your own sort of stuff, that is also really fun. For example, fishnet shirts can be made by ripping a seam in a pair of fishnets, or you can make side chains with can tabs. If you do shop, try to avoid places like Shein though, they exploit a lot of their workers.

hi!! So the key to looking emo/scene isn’t getting statement pieces!!!! You want clothes from the late 2000s; if you look at pictures of scene and emos they’re usually not dressed that crazy lol. so goodwill is your number one place to go!! Andd I found my pierce the veil shirt from there for 5 dollars too, so sometimes you can get really lucky ^_^

Some things to look for are like patterned zip up sweatshirts, skinny jeans, simple graphic t-shirts, etc. maybe leggings and pleated skirts if you like dressing more feminine :3 and then maybe invest in a pair of skate shoes or combat boots. If you really want to get the scene/emo look down look for really tight fitting clothes :3 (I can’t cause I have sensory issues fml)

the trick is knowing where to look for specific items! thrift stores and second hand shops tend to have a lot of graphic tees (and occasionally cool belts), claire's has legwarmers and fishnet gloves, hot topic (especially around halloween time) has cool fishnets and patterned tights, amazon has studded and patterned belts. spirit halloween has makeup, tights, legwarmers, and other such accessories, as well as cheap corsets and stuff (although the quality may vary).
