im participating in writing competition for a chance to get published, and need help as to whether my story sounds interesting enough lol. so heres a synopsis and the first paragraph.
(content warnings for subtle horror and strong themes of mental health, take into consideration before reading!!)
an unnamed heroine is a successful horror novelist, deciding that becoming such is the best career for her. yet, she soon finds the mental turmoil that comes with taking up such a job.
anyways, here's the first paragraph,
' I thought that killing her off would've made me feel better. I thought that it would fill me with a sort of confidence, or newfound respect for myself, whether it be faux or not. Although it disgusts me to look at the words I had written, and I find myself humiliated by the fact that I had written them, I read them continuously, the feeling of despair I get while reading them being addicting.'
