local friendly high school senior here to help

i'd star the message and put it in a folder for later if it looks like a college you'll genuinely be interested in. My top colleges changed throughout my freshman year, and again my sophomore, my junior year, and i'm just settling in on what i potentially want to major in right now. You have all the time in the world to figure out college, and the best thing you can do for yourself right now is focus on your grades and mental health, alright?

i'm so proud of you for asking questions and being active, that's a huge step for a freshman! you're doing amazing, and I believe in you. /gen

i get so many emails from colleges as a junior in high school, and i am almost 100% sure that you won’t read most of them if you sign up for emails from the collegeboard-affiliated colleges?? college emails usually start at the end freshman year-ish, but they really start clogging up your inbox in sophomore and junior year lol. totally give it a shot if you’re interested tho!!

Yeah i get this, i'm a senior in highschool so ive been getting emails for all 4 years and its kinda annoying at this point.

what I highly recommend is signing up for raise.me!!! its a site that you can add your grades and extracurricular s and jobs and it earns you money for lots of different colleges!!

it would also be a good idea to make a label for your email inbox that filters out college emails to that label so that they dont clog up your actual inbox (trust me)

be sure you consider some in-state colleges too because going to a college in the same state as you is often cheaper (colleges charge more if you're not from the same state as the college)

I'm a freshman too so I'd say look into it honestly if they are looking out for you it's probably a good thing.

I would definitely respond and look at their classes!! Even though it's far away it's good to keep your options open hkbear
