I have so much merch i've bought when i was hyperfixated on stuff then i leave the fandom/thing later and idk what to do with it.

i was hyperfixated on centricide and i almost bought a huge banner (thankfully i was broke @ the time) WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH A BANNER???? HANG IT UP ON MY ALREADY FILLED WALL??? PUT IT IN MY LAUNDRY ROOM FOR MY FAMILY TO SEE????

i was also hyperfixated on fundy (the creator and character) in 2020 so now i have a bunch of fundy merch AND I DONT EVEN LIKE DSMP ANYMORE OR WATCH HIM 5148b8c88eedd_cry.gif

basically im super responsible with money until it envolves a hyperfixation or special interest..... Im so close to complusivly buying a tord mug please talk me out of it. I DONT EVEN USE MUGS.... LIKE AT ALL.

if you have merch you dont want anymore you can sell it on depop or something. and you could start saving your money for something cool that doesnt involve a hyperfixation, like a computer or a bike or something.

i add a bunch of shit to my etsy/amazon/whatever cart and then i see the price at checkout and delete everything kao sick

i do compulsivly make my own merch tho. i made a strabby hat recently. it's a little too small but it satisfied my primal autiadhd instincts.

most of my problem is there isnt much merch for my hyperfixations (rhps, reanimator, evil dead, etc)

I look at how much money I have then I look at the merch and say "I'm to broke :')" Even if I have enough money

i try to remind myself that when i hyperfixate on interests, i rarely go back into it so it would be wasted. i also only let myself buy things related if i've been hyperfixated for more than six months, because that's a really long time for me and typically at that point its going to become a recurring interest.
