String for a backpack?

well, i made a zelda purse using fishing line but it came a little loose. My friend told me to use stretch magic, the thickest one possible , and she said double string it. Is stretchy string better and how would i double string it? by the way, thanks to anyone who replies! 1.gif

Fishing line works best!

Well, I have seen both used in bags now since me and a friend decided to see how both would hold out. I used the largest diameter of stretch cord I could find and my friend used a high pound test fishing line. Both of our bags are doing just fine, but for added piece of mind, I'd go with fishing line. Like I said in another thread, bass fishing line does great and it removes any paranoia of breakage. I really recommend using fishing line. Its probably loose because you didn't pull tight or tie it really tight, or you just try a higher pound test. Elastic would be sort of a problem because it breaks really easily. The thick elastic would work but if you tie some more string on, it would be really hard cause I tried tying some off I pulled really tight and tied it more and it came loose so yeah. Imagine a bag you did with fishing line, now imagine how cuffs you should've done.

First of all, What test did you use for your fishing line because fishing line usually holds up pretty well for purses and bags so maybe you should try a higher pound test. Second, to double string it you would get the string and fold it in half so it would be double the thickness. Hope This helped happy
