what/who got you into kandi?

for me its a long story but I'll simplify it

Dad finds a necklace that I wear so much that we need to replace the string, dad goes 2 dollar tree and finds necklace kit that has string and these little circle beads (not pony beads but still some sort of beads), I make a whole bunch of miscellaneous bracelets

School comes around, new friend (fun fact they're on here) and gives me a small thing of pony beads because I only had the tiny circle beads, I love them.

I end up buying my own and find tutorials and just a bunch of other stuff

my ex introduced me! i asked her about the bracelets she wore cause i thought they were cool and she explained it to me, then showed me how to make singles! i managed to learn cuffs before her but she was very supportive and i was very happy to teach her how.

my older sister! my sister was a scene kid in like 2005-2016 (i think) and she would always make stuff and would teach me stuff too, i really bonded with my sister during thos times :3

my partner got me into it!! we were on call and they sent me this cuff they were making and it got me inspired and look were i am now XD

when i was younger my mom had this fox keychain that she had made from pony beads and i had some beads so i made a random snake cuz i thought her fox was cool. but, being the child i was, i forgot about kandi after a bit

then earlier this school year i was looking for blitzo reference images and somehow i fell so far down the google images hole that i came across a pic of a blitzo thing someone had made on this site. i thought it was cool so i clicked into the site and joined ^^

okay this is kinda weird but idc. i had this really rude friend but she wore kandi singles and i loved them. i got online, bought a bunch of walmart beads, and made a bunch of stuff. aaaand now she makes fun of me for wearing more intricate kandi (ties, 3d cuffs, my rainbow frog flat cuff, etc)

what/who got you into kandi?
