(TW) I usually don't reply to questions on this website, but this one caught my eye. Personally, I love Melanie Martinez. It's not right for people to say they hate a person if they could just say they hate their music or their style. Melanie has a unique style, it's a variation of styles ranging from pastel goth to lolita styles. She talks a lot about personal and world-wide problems. For example: sa, the r a word (I don't want to trigger anyone), and even the problems with sexism and family trauma. Yes, the Timothy accusation was proven untrue, but a lot of people still say they don't like her because it still has the chance of happening, even though it's happening everywhere and they don't speak up about that. Some people could be jealous, who knows, or some people just don't like her style and way of coping through music about mental trauma. She's worked to hard to get to where she is today, and most of the time her music reaches the targeted audience. She's a unique person who has a unique way of expressing things, especially through her voice and fashion. I really like her, and I really hope to love the new movie (she's going to be releasing) just the same as K-12! I mean with melanie it's prob cuz her music is ass (for me, anyways, or that her music feels super ddlg-fetish-y), in terms of DR the source itself is "problematic" if you look at it under the lens of trying to cancel it

i think those fandoms are considered problematic, (which doesnt make sense to me considering its not just one person running a fandom so it cant be considered inherently problematic but whatever)
