Safe Raving Tips

Due to the fact I still live at home and must abide my mother's rules, I haven't been to a rave before. I am planning on doing so one day with a really good friend of mine since we both agree it would be a really great time. I'd love anyone's advice about raving safely. I want to enjoy the experience of my first rave and reduce the risk of anything that may spoil it.

All of my rave experiences over all have been comfortable and wonderful. Just to keep it quick for you, some tips. -Friends! go with some one you absolutely trust! and stick together, this is one of the most important things. -water, lots of water, keep it under close watch. -Know your limitations, Only do what is comfortable for you. you dont have to do anything you dont want to. I can not say this enough. And last but not least keep an open mind and Have FUN! You'll be fine girl, oh go on PLURR on! Peace. Love. Unity. Respect. and RESPONSIBILITY. love struck

Dont be afraid to randomly walk up to people and ask to trade. 9 times out of 10 they'll be very very happy to trade with you. Like they said, keep yourself hydrated and try to stay away from sodas, "energy" drinks and stuff like that. NEVER drink from anyone else's water bottle. In my experience, it always has something in it. A close friend of mine overdoses last year from a shared drink. I would hate for it to happen to anyone else. Drugs are inevitable. You will be surrounded by them. But more often than not, like Noodle says, they're either bunk or have a dangerous product in them. Never feel like you're forced into drugs. They're meant to enhance the experience, not drain your values. This isn't to give you any incentive to do them. Lastly, never accept free drugs. Sometimes there's a catch or it isn't what they say it is. Most of the people you'll meet aren't the deceptive type, but you can never be too safe at a rave. Finally, I suggest wearing thin clothing. I usually wear shorts and a T-shirt and some leggings. You'll get very sweaty, especially if you're near the DJs. So be prepared! Deoderant is your best friend. And my number one rule-ALWAYS bring two pony tail holders. Sometimes both you AND a friend will need one.

Keep your water to yourself, first and foremost. I love to be PLUR and share and be nice, but honestly, if you don't know someone, you don't know if they might put something in your water. I've seen it happen before, sadly :/ Stay with your buddy and try not to get lost! Use your head and common sense. Ask yourself, 'does this seem like a good/safe idea?' If you have to really think about it, or if you say no, then don't do it!! Also, make sure to have fun! Don't stand in the back, terrified of the crowd or of other people. Most the people you'll meet at events/raves are pretty friendly and helpful(:

you should be fine girl! in most of my experiences people have been very respectful and peaceful. to be honest, a couple fights have broken out in the past but it seems they were all between people that already knew each other and brought grudges with them, not just violent people attacking one another lol. I don't think that's anything to worry about. if you meet new people and want to be polite but feel uncomfortable using your real name when introducing yourself, use a rave name or other nickname! most people know me as Noodle, its easy for people to remember but not super personal. f you are going to partake in any drugs, (I'm not saying you should or shouldn't just offering general advice) PLEASE buy ahead of time of time from someone you know and trust or at least someone your friend knows and trusts. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM ANYONE AT THE PARTY. theres lots of bunk crap floating around, not only will you get ripped off but your safety could be in jeopardy. I don't know if you have the "bunk police" where you're from, but if you do they will test anything you have for free check out bunkpolice . org it's not that people intend to harm you, but a lot of times they themselves don't even realize how cut the scoobie snacks their selling are. drugs or not, drink lots of water. you'll be dancing your face off and you don't want to get dehydrated. I've seen it happen dozens of times oh and of course, NEVER put your drink down or leave it unattended.
