I JUST GOT CALLED ABELIST FOR SAYING THAT IS IT or not. FOR CONTEXT i was calling myself insane.

it all comes down to context, like user gaythoughtsheadfull said !! if you're calling someone on the psychotic spectrum insane, i think it would be considered ableist, but if you're not and you're using it like "bro that's insane !" as in like a "bro that's super cool!" type of way, it's not ableist.

if someone is using it specifically to insult/be demeaning to someone, then yeah i'd say it could possibly be considered ableist, but just using it in the context of smthn like "that party was INSANE!!!" wouldn't be ableist imo. (as someone who experiences psychosis)

I have psychosis (I have auditory and visual hallucinations), so I COULD be called insane, and if someone directly called me insane obviously I’d be offended but if someone was watching basketball or smth and was like “BRO THATS iNsAnE!” at a slam dunk or smth I’m pretty sure that’s not ableist
