"Bert": How do you get the rim to stick out horizontally instead of it just continuing to be part of the cylinder-hat part? Does it still stay that way on your head!? The top hat is basicly an xbase cuff. I go 3D along the edges like you would a cuff but instead of making 3D X's I just build off the one side. I use 2mm elastic cord so it keeps it's shape really nice.
