i like buying from jo-ann's because they have big bags of glow in the dark pony beads for $5 idk if there is a place that sells them cheaper. Try to find a place that operates in the u.s. and in a state w/o sales tax, if you're buying online. hope that helped.

I don't know if you want to use perler beads or pony beads, but the perler website has some nice ideas for gifts: http://www.eksuccessbrands.com/perlerbeads/creative/projects.htm A coaster set, plant sticks, keepsake box... Mother's Day was in March over here in England, lol.

http://shop.hobbylobby.com/store/item.aspx?ItemId=162029 Hobby Lobby lists them on their site, so I'd suggest trying there or any other general craft shop? Just remember to check the general bead section AND the kid's crafts section. My local Michael's spits up the pony beads, which is a bit annoying. If you can't find anything and want to go the internet route, just Google'ing "number beads" yields SO MANY results that will probably help you. I don't buy craft supplies online, so I can't give any recommendations on a seller.

If you don't want the beads so large you could make a single out of mini pony beads.

if you just use stretch and decent pony beads, just clean them off with soap and water. even just running them under warm water will get most of the gross off of them. happy

Reply to thread: adding 3d kandi to shoes?

May 25, 2012 10:38 am
It's possible to add kandi to shoes... I would suggest painting over the knots with a good clear nail polish to keep it from falling off. I would also suggest using small pony beads and try not to step on the decoration so it doesn't break. But, I've never added Kandi to shoes before...

They're probably not the cheapest, but I used to get all mine from http://store.creative-wholesale.com (check the Beads > Pony beads section for normal beads and the beads > craft beads and value packs for novelty beads. I placed many, many orders with them and never had a problem.

Use mini pony beads to make a small multi for your finger. Or, you could just make a peyote somethinganother and wrap string around the bottom that you can put your finger through.

Perler creations, small peyotes, voodoo dolls, My Little Pony toys, Moshi Monster toys, Halo toys, Hello Kitty toys, Legos. Resin & polymer clays charms I made myself.

ima raver..but i know tons of kids who dont rave that are epic kandi makers...dosent matter...one of the best pony bead beaders i know is some 68 yo lady that i always run into at the crasftstores around town..she makes beautiful candle holders that are more complicated then some of the most epic huge cuffs on here..im quite she she isnt a raver..but in these days n age ..i could tottaly be wrong winking but to answer ur question about if its not for a rave its not kandi...id have to say yes n no..(complicated isnt it) see kandi when u trade at a rave/event is most often made for a friend/people u meet...sumtimes its hard to remeber peoples names/faces and for me when i trade kandi with some one when i meet them at a rave..ill always remeber them with the kandi they gave me...then after u keep meeting people n seeign them at different shows..u start to make epic things for eachother as gifts.... and as for "kandi" in the non rave sense its more of a craft.. love struck

I agree with everyone here~ ^u^ I don't have the opportunity to go to a rave (I'm old enough, I just don't live where there's raves going on ), but I admire kandi SO much! I started making "pony bead jewelry" a few years ago before I knew that what I was making was pretty much kandi. OuO The pieces I made had alot of meaning into them though. When I learned what kandi was all about, it made me like it more~ So I think as long as people put love into their bead creations, then it's okay whether you've been to a rave or not. Not everyone has that opportunity, but for the ones who do, then that's cool. :3

I get all my beads online (cause no stores here sell pony beads) I get them from either Ebay or beadbee.com (the only 2 good places that send here)
