another thing that annoys me abt it is that its not even every letter for some people. like ok i can work with you and train my brain to read it but its super hard to do it when some people are out here (for example) typing people as p30p1e or pe0p13 or something where its not even every letter changed like im sorry but i cant read that and i literally typed it!!

@KENNAKILLZ: RIGHT??? One time I met someone who uses X'S in place of A and O and I had a headache five minutes into the convo and I wasn't even apart of it-- I was just reading passively

example if you can't visualize how horrible it was:

Lxl lxve thxt fxr yxo

((Lol love that for you)

LIKE HUH????

@glitched_user: imaging the joker monologuing at the beginning of a movie or something and someone asking him why he became the joker and just saying "4's in place of A's" is just MWAH

@jUggal0_pUppY: same- sometimes my brain forgets it's supposed to be changing the numbers into letters and I have to use context clues to figure it out- it's hella fustratin

@SakasuPiero: idk what you mean by "it's super hard not too", this is going to sound harsh, but it's not fair that disabled people (and others) are excluded from reading something because "its hard" to make it accessible. We deserve the same leisures others have too, yk? You could add a translation later, make the translation a paraphrase of the main message, or train your brain into making it less strenuous for people to read/ listen too, finding other ways to stim (if you are I know it can be a stim), or even attempting to switch some numbers with letters will be helpful. hell maybe even typing out some basic phrases without the typing quirk and just copy and pasting it when you need too is probably helpful.

I'm sorry if this is coming out agressive but I'm so tired of people conveniently forgetting about us disabled folk, wether its intentional or not. I do appreciate you trying, it means a lot to me as someone who has a lot of trouble reading and processing words (I haven't gotten it check out yet so imma leave it at that) so yeah. idk it's just hard living in a world that obviously doesn't want you there yk?/st

@rotten_meat: EXACTLY if I had to listen to that with no other way to help me understand I think I’d turn into the joker

@glitched_user: FR

My eyesight is steadily going and if I have to fucking decode a message with audio processing disorder without any clues just because a kid wanted to look cool/ didn't think that far I will literally burn a building down

luckily I can read them relatively easily, but oh my god does no one care about accessibility. If someone uses a screen reader, it’s gonna sound like a garbled mess of numbers like a messed up code or something. Even if it’s something as tame as replacing o with 0, for example, a screen reader will read “h0w are y0u” (how are you) as “h zero w are y zero u” PLEASE just think about disabled people for two seconds before you call yourself an ally for the disabled. This is just an example but lack of accessibility online is a huge issue and no one seems to care about, same with those carrds that have huge flashing lights and neon colors, if you don’t give the proper warnings then you can literally risk giving someone a seizure and other stuff. This turned into a bit of a rant but long story short if you’re gonna use a typing quirk translate it and put proper warnings for shit like flashing lights because this is legitimately dangerous for some people!! You’re not an ally if you ignore the fact that you’re making your stuff inaccessible for the sake of an aesthetic
