Non-ravers with kandi?

So, it may be odd to be on this site as I've never atteneded a rave, I live in England and you have to be 18+ or 16+, I do want to go to a rave and I make things out of beads, usually for others and people say if you don't rave it isn't kandi? but other people have said if you understand the rave scene its okay to have a bit of kandi? So I was wondering on your opinions?

I don't rave but I do go to parties, ad I think it's ok to make as much kandi as u want if u don't rave, because it's just jewelery,

It's beaded jewelry so it doesn't really matter and it's your decision so it shouldn't matter what others think if you wear it

I dont rave (my parents are really strict and whatever) but i will when im older, im okay with nonravers wearing kandi (OBVIOUSLY), but only if they treat kandi the same way as ravers do. I only have a problem with the scene kids who wear kandi because its cool, its cute/kawaii, or its what everyone else is doing. Like, kandi is really meaningful.

ima raver..but i know tons of kids who dont rave that are epic kandi makers...dosent matter...one of the best pony bead beaders i know is some 68 yo lady that i always run into at the crasftstores around town..she makes beautiful candle holders that are more complicated then some of the most epic huge cuffs on here..im quite she she isnt a raver..but in these days n age ..i could tottaly be wrong

but to answer ur question about if its not for a rave its not kandi...id have to say yes n no..(complicated isnt it) see kandi when u trade at a rave/event is most often made for a friend/people u meet...sumtimes its hard to remeber peoples names/faces and for me when i trade kandi with some one when i meet them at a rave..ill always remeber them with the kandi they gave me...then after u keep meeting people n seeign them at different shows..u start to make epic things for eachother as gifts.... and as for "kandi" in the non rave sense its more of a craft..

also for the non-raver kandi makers...from wut iv seen they often make kandi for them self and sumtimes really close friends..so its more of a hobby vs. a lifestyle... kandi kids r a dying breed...often here were i am in the midwest...theres not alot of kandi kids at the raves...and most defiantly not much of the PLUR vibe..there is a hand full of us..and we quickly befriend one when we see them... one kid of kandi maker to watch out for is lolly-theifs..they will rarely make kandi them self and when ur back is turned take urs and just give it to some one else n say they made it..just so they fit in to "the scene..mostly bad scene kids..the druggies/party bitchz.. im 100% sober raver..im 25 years young..and iv been to over 130 raves in over 18 different states...i started going when i wus 13yo..been raving for 12 years..and im the first to admit that im not a know it all raver..i just give my opinion..dont take anythign i say to heart..just get out there and find out for yourself..

i am not a raver (too young)but,kandi is my life i make kandis whenever i have the time and im going to rave soo i think itz ok to make kandi and not rave after all its a craft and anyone can do any craft they feel like doing

I don't rave either... It just doesn't appeal to me even though my mom would let me... I just love to make kandi

If you don't rave, it's still kandi TO AN EXTENT. If you're just wearing it to be cool or you don't know what it is/what PLURR is/what the culture is, it's just beads on a bracelet. The culture, PLURR, etc makes it kandi.

thanks bi0technichazard i understand raving cuz i know like 30 ravers and they've explained raving to me so i call it KANDI!!

i see a ton of non-ravers with kandi on, which is iffy for me. it's almost like if you respect the culture and wear kandi, i'm fine with it.. but when you wear kandi and diss ravers, i'm putting you on my sh!tlist. i had a friend who wasn't a raver, but wore kandi, almost constantly bad-mouthing ravers.. she had the balls to DEMAND that i make her kandi. (luckily, i didn't) and now that she knows i rave, and hate her guts for what she says, she will not shut up about what horrible people ravers are. ****i DO NOT think non-ravers are horrible people (unless they bad-mouth me, friends or the culture) and should be allowed to wear kandi.**** i have 2 "kids" in 6th grade (Katt & Mauss) who went to a local all ages rave. they came to their first rave with armloads of kandi. i respect them for knowing and respecting the rave culture before they even went to one.
