pony bead tubs is there a diffrence

i've gotten 3 tubs of pony beads from Walmart and either its me seeing things, the lighting, or there really is a difference but to me when i stare at the yellow i bought in a 500ct bag vs. what came in the tub the tub is not as vibrant or as pretty has anyone else noticed this

I think it depends on the company making the beads and the dye lot. With Micheal's, Hobby Lobby or Joanne's you can get a 40 off coupon. happy Haven't bought pony beads in 10 years....

I've noticed that too. I bought one tub from there and I really liked the colors (especially the purple b/c it wasn't dark) but when I went back to get more a few weeks later, they only had the weird colored ones. sad

I always buy the packages of beads from Walmart, but never the buckets of beads. The beads in the buckets are a bit bigger and square-ish, if that makes sense. The colors aren't as vibrant either. Like ChibiBel said, the red is more orange-ish, the white is dark, and the other colors are very dull.

I got a tub and a few packs (white, red, and black) of pony beads all from walmart, I noticed the white was a bit darker in the tub, as well as the red seeming more orange-ish. It's slightly noticeable when you mix them in a cuff. It's not just you OxO

I only buy beads from Walmart if I need letter beads, Michaels has more vibrant colors.

i saw that too. now i only buy beads from walmart when i can't go any place else, or i need glow in the dark beads. I go to michael's because they have real pretty beads and for a low cost too happy

OMG I noticed that too! Its why I never bought anymore pony beads from Wal-Mart. All the yellow beads just seem faded and I don't like the look of them. They used to be more vibrant though.

I noticed when I bought a tub of alphabet bead mix last week. A good majority of the alphabet beads had the paint coming off and the plastic beads were mostly the same :/

My cousin used to buy the mini tubs from wal-mart (because she is a Kindergarten teacher) and the yellow wasn't as nice and vibrant as the ones from Michaels.

I've noticed it, in the beginning the tub was vibrant but now I feel as if they have faded or something.... That's why I prefer to buy mine from the bag
