Status Online Glitch

So if you go to "all friends," even if the friend is online it will say offline unless you click on their profile. Also, the "last on" status is inaccurate. It will say decemember 2022 even if it was 2 minutes ago. Is there a way to fix this?

@P1nkGh0st: Thanks. It’s really not a well-built site though, to be honest (as evidenced by all of the bugs). I wrote most of it when I was brand new to PHP. I’ve added better parts on more recently, but I’m constrained by time and the old framework. I’m just happy it’s still online

JavaScript is another language this site uses, especially in the pattern maker. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are what I started with when I first got into coding, but there are a lot of different paths you can take. Good luck with coding kao smile

@Crumpet: Thank you! I want to learn how to code better, I'm only really good at HTML. I think your website is really impressive happy

@P1nkGh0st: Yes, the site uses HTML. The part of the code which displays the online messages relies on PHP though. I try not to advertise which PHP framework the site uses because that makes it easier for hackers. It's from the early 2010s and is rather obscure now. The social networking script is a plugin for the PHP framework, rather than a framework specifically designed for social networking.

I've just quickly hopped on and made a change to the online statuses on profiles, friend lists, and the online user list, but I need to monitor it for a while because it might not have fixed it for all scenarios and I'm not about to start a barrage of testing at this time of the evening.

Keep in mind that some users hide their online status, so those users will always appear as offline.

@Crumpet: Oh, okay. It's built on html? I think I might know the script you're talking about.

Yes. I’ll take a look at it this weekend. I believe I know what’s wrong with it, but it’s a mix of an old social networking script and my own code so it might be a little bit more complex to fix than I think it is.
