i am contemplating on making a wearable kandi crown. i am going to try princess peaches. I was wondering if i could simply put make a regular cuff just on a really big scale then peyote the triangles and attach them, or if i'd have to do a peyote for the whole thing. Also string, I've worked with fishing line and 1mm D elastic cord, is there something else i should use, or should i do a mix so the headpiece is more formfitting and the points are sturdy Also what stores sell metallic gold, blue, and red beads. I would prefer not to buy online because somehow i always get wronged when i order online

I've made a crown/necklace-thing before. I made twelve stars and tied them all together like a giant star cuff. I wear as a necklace, but it fits around my head too. If you're making princess Peach's crown and you want to try it this way, then I suggest that you make the inside of the stars the color of the gems on her crown. For example: make two completely gold stars, and sew them together, then make one red with gold on the outside, then repeat this with two gold stars and a blue and gold star (and so on)until you get the size/number of stars you need. For the crown that I made, I used .7mm elastic, but you can use what you like. Metallic gold beads can be found at Michael's craft store. Red and blue beads sometimes come in beading kits (like the kind for kids) that can be found at most craft stores. big grin
